Similar to the ISO 9001 standard, ISO 17025 was issued by the International Organization for Standardization. It is the main standard used by testing and calibration laboratories.

There are many commonalities between 9001 and 17025 with the largest difference being the concept of competence. Laboratories use ISO 17025 to implement a quality system that is aimed at improving their ability to consistently produce valid results.

Advanced Protection Technologies has two Engineering Laboratories that employ the ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 Quality Systems. APT is certified through UL's Client Data Test Program (CLDT) to the ISO 17025. The Engineering Labs' operational procedures and test instructions are audited yearly by an outside UL audit team to perform portions of UL testing.

Performing UL testing enables APT to produce the safest, highest quality Surge Protective Devices (SPD) on the market.
